History in the making
The Boyne Heritage Center is a nonprofit interpretive center in development, poised to become a flagship family attraction and historical hub for the Boyne area in Northern Michigan. We recognize the passion our community has for its heritage. It is our mission to be the expressive living voice and collective memory of those who came before us and those who will come after us — stewards of artifacts and an engaged, collaborative historical hub for our region.

THE FUTURE EXHIBIT
You will feel transported through time as you enter the exhibit. The eight sections tell the story of how the extraordinary gifts of land and water have attracted people to the Boyne region for centuries. Formed by grinding glaciers and maturing forests, revered by native peoples, consumed by industry and fading fortunes, these gifts are once again nurtured today and preserved for tomorrow.
Share, partner and collaborate
As a history information hub for our area, the Boyne Heritage Center shares knowledge, resources, energy and ideas. We collaborate with other historical organizations, the library, schools, civic groups and the business community, and strive to be creative in our thinking for new partnerships that share in our vision or relate to our area’s history.

Education, programming and services
Boyne Heritage Center offers informative activities, programs and services to preserve and promote the history of our area. These are held at the heritage center as well as other venues in the area. Activities are open and available to the public, and may include lectures, classes, exhibits, traveling exhibits, dinners, events, school tours, historical tours, research services and demonstrations.
